Amit Palekar, lawyer of former Goa Tourism Minister Fransisco Mickey Pacheco, arrested in connection with the death of his close friend Nadia Torrado, has withdrawn from the case.

“I have decided not to fight Pacheco’s case henceforth,” Mr. Palekar told PTI.

He, however, refused to give reason for pulling out of the case.

Mr. Palekar announced the decision after holding two hour-long meeting with Pacheco’s live-in partner, Viola.

Pacheco’s remand expires on Friday and the former minister is expected to move bail petition before sessions court.
