Woman thrown out of train crushed to death

A woman in her sixties was crushed to death and her husband suffered injuries when they were thrown out of a bogey of the Shatabdi Express allegedly by Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel while they attempted to board the train at Muzaffarnagar railway station on Wednesday.

According to the Uttar Pradesh IG ( Law and Order ), Raj Kumar Vishwakarma, the woman died on the spot.

The old couple was trying to board the moving Delhi-Saharanpur train when the incident occurred. The couple is said to have mistakenly boarded the train.

While the woman was crushed to death after she came between the platform and the moving train, her husband managed to survive with injuries.

Mr. Vishwakarma said a case was registered by the deceased’s husband, Rameshwar Tyagi, at the Government Railway Police station in Muzaffarnagar.

A RPF sub-inspector, Ram Chandra and a constable, Subhash were named in the FIR. No arrests have been made.
