Woman Maoist squad member arrested

A female squad member of the Communist Party of India (Maoist) was arrested by the joint security forces on Thursday from the Lalgarh police thana area of Paschim Medinipur district in the Maoist violence-affected Jangalmahal region.

The accused Phulmani alias Bela is suspected to be involved in the attack on the Eastern Frontier Rifles camp at Silda in the district on February 15, 2010, in which 24 jawans were killed.

Phulmani will be produced in court on Friday.
