Jolted by the killings of 17 policemen in an audacious strike by Naxals in this district, Maharashtra Government on Friday said its fight against the Maoists will continue with renewed vigour.

“Our battle against Naxals will continue. The attack has made our resolve to tackle the Naxal menace even more strong,” Home Minister Jayant Patil told reporters here after paying respects to the slain policemen. State police chief S S Virk and local MP M Kowase were present.

The Home Minister said adequate reserve security personnel have been deployed in the Naxal—infested areas of Vidarbha region.
