: Violence and harassment are the key issues adversely affecting the medical fraternity today, said a survey released on the occasion of Doctors’ Day on Friday.
The report was released by eMediNexus, a networking and advocacy platform that works in the field of medicine.
Of the 4,981 doctors surveyed, a majority felt that the government must provide protection against the increasing cases of violence against them. They demanded the formulation of a grievance cell to inquire into cases of medical negligence and allocation of a police unit when doctors come under threat.
Close to 70 per cent of the doctors felt that they should have a right to go on strike.
About 60 per cent felt that the PCPNDT Act was discriminatory against radiologists.
