Violence in Rajasthan town, ban orders clamped

June 17, 2013 01:56 am | Updated 01:56 am IST - Jaipur:

Violence broke out in Rajnagar city with mobs setting afire several vehicles and vandalising shops during clashes between members of two communities, prompting authorities to clamp prohibitory orders on Sunday.

The trouble started when two minors allegedly opened fire at a tailor shop over some old enmity in which the tailor’s two sons escaped unhurt last evening, Additional Superintendent of Police Pradeep Sharma said.

Two motorbikes, a roadside outlet, and a car were set ablaze and a marble shop on highway was damaged by members of another community apparently in retaliation to last night’s firing in Dhani-Chabutra area of Rajnagar, Rajsamand district headquarters, about 350 kms from here.
