U.P. government to take action against institutes charging hefty fees

Taking serious note of complaints that private engineering and management colleges were charging hefty fees, the Uttar Pradesh government today said strict action would be taken against such institutions.

“The State government has already made it clear that institutes should charge only prescribed fees and not press students to take accommodation in hostels. However, some colleges were not following the directives,” an official release issued here said.

The State government has warned such institutes and strict action will be take against those not complying with the orders, an official of the technical education department said.

The department has also asked the parents and students to register their complaints with them in case private institutes were harassing them.
