University of Kashmir on Saturday signed a MoU with Doordarshan Kendra here under which the programmes produced by the university will be telecast on DDK thrice a week free of cost.
According to the Memorandum of Understanding, DDK will not charge any telecast fee for 67 programmes of the university. The programmes include a lecture series concerning the under-graduate and post-graduate students.
The programmes would be telecast on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at prime time chunk in the evening between 9.30 pm to 10.30 pm, except on exigencies.
The University Vice-Chancellor Riyaz Punjabi said signing of MoU was a significant development aimed at reaching out to the large section of student fraternity with quality educational programmes.
“It will bring education to the doorsteps of students, who will be able to watch quality educational programmes at home,” he said.
