A militant of the United Liberation Front of Asom was arrested at Amingaon, near Guwahati, in Kamrup (Rural) district of Assam on Saturday.

On a tip-off, the police arrested Kishore Das alias Puwali, belonging to the ULFA's 709 battalion, near Chilarai Park adjacent to Gauhati University.

During interrogation at the Jalukbari police station, Kishore Das said 709 battalion's dreaded commander Hira Sarania had sent him to Guwahati, but he did not say whether he was detailed for subversive activities.
