Uddhav to undergo another angioplasty today

November 04, 2012 02:16 am | Updated June 22, 2016 12:30 pm IST - Mumbai:

Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray will undergo another angioplasty at Lilavati Hospital here on Sunday, party sources said.

The 51-year-old leader had undergone the first angioplasty in the same hospital in July, following complaints of severe chest pain.

Two series of medical procedures

The medical team had then discovered multi-vessel blockages in his heart and suggested that he must undergo two series of medical procedures to relieve his condition.

“This second angioplasty was suggested to him when he was admitted for the first surgery,” A Sena source said.

‘Scheduled procedure’

“It is a scheduled procedure, which has been mapped by the medical team from Lilavati,” the source said.
