Two minor sisters were gang-raped by six people in a moving car in Gujarat's Dahod district.
The incident was reportedly an act of revenge as the girls’ brother, who had named Kumat Baria as the main bootlegger supplying liquor in the area. The victms’ brother was earlier arrested for bootlegging and had informed about Baria when police questioned him.
Baria, main accused and arrested by the police on Thursday, allegedly committed the brutality on the girls in presence of their father on Wednesday in Devgadh Baria, a tribal-dominated region.
According to the case details, Balia and his accomplices abducted both the sisters and their father from the victims’ house and then took turns to rape the girls in the moving jeep with their father also inside.
“In moving car, Kumat and others first raped 15-year-old girl and then her 13-year-old sister in a moving vehicle in forest area for an hour,” the victims' father stated in the police complaint.
The gruesome incident has once again exposed the deteriorating law and order situation in the State and rising crimes against women along with the rampant bootlegging in the dry State of Gujarat.
