Two days after a 19-year-old woman, who worked as an ‘ayah’ at a city hospital alleged that she had been gang-raped, two persons were arrested on Wednesday, said a senior city police official here on Thursday.

Asked whether the rape had been confirmed in the victim’s medical report, Mr. Ghosh said: “The report does not mention anything that rules out the possibility of rape …. the case is still alive.”On Monday, the woman from Murshidabad district lodged a first information report at a police station in the city alleging that she had been gang-raped after being drugged by a person inside a moving vehicle.
