Two drown in Ganga at Ballia

Two girls drowned in the Ganga and Ghaghra while taking a dip in the rivers, police said on Saturday.

Durgesh (17) of Madhubani village and Roshan Sharma (12) of Pipra Kala village on Friday drowned while taking a dip in Ghaghra river and the Ganga respectively. The bodies have been fished out, police said.

In another incident, two sisters Dalpatiya (17) and Romni (16) of Bayasi village, who had gone to the bank of the Ganga along with their mother, accidentally slipped into the deep waters, police said.

People rushed to help on the cries of their mother but to no avail. Police were tying to locate them. - PTI
