Two CPI(M) supporters killed in clash

Two CPI(M) supporters were killed and three persons were injured on Friday in a clash between the CPI(M) and the Congress at Kapashdanga village near Beldanga in Murshidabad.

Police said that supporters of the two parties clashed with bombs resulting in the deaths of Siraj-ul Huq(30) and Ajmat Ali (26), Superintendent of Police, Murshidabad, Bharat Lal Meena said.

Clashes between the Congress and the CPI(M) had been continuing since the panchayat elections, after several members of the CPI(M) had joined the Congress. 13 persons have been arrested in connection with the incident. A police contingent has been posted in the area.
