The troopers of Red Shield Division conducted a combing operation at Laiaren Sajik areas on the basis of intelligence reports that some rebels were sighted in the immediate vicinity.
An official statement said that the troopers were able to arrest Ramanad Ningthoujam, the self styled finance secretary of the Kangleipak Communist Party (Noyon group). He is from Phumlou Maning Leikai in Bishnupur district. One US made 9 mm pistol with nine live rounds was found from his possession.
The troopers also conducted another combing operation at Mayang Langjing. One self styled private of the Kangleipak Communist Party (Military Task Fore) was nabbed. He was identified as Rupachandra Phijam. No weapon was found from his possession.
Both of them were later handed over to the police.
