Two arrested for cheating tourist

PANAJI: The Calangute police in north coastal Goa on Tuesday arrested two men from Candolim for allegedly cheating a tourist on the pretext of ‘providing a girl for a night’.

The accused, Sachin Rathod and Raj Pawar, hail from Karnataka. The police arrested them by laying a trap with the help of the complainant, said police inspector Jivba Dalvi. The police seized ₹5,000 and mobile phones from the two men. An offence has been registered against the two under Section 420 read with Section 34 of the Indian Penal Code.
