Tripura minister Jitendra Chowdhury shifted to AIIMS

Tripura’s Minister for Forest and Rural Development, Jitendra Chowdhury was shifted to the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) on Friday for treatment of urinary infection and diabetes, official sources said.

Mr. Chowdhury was admitted to the intensive care unit of Agartala Medical College on Wednesday following acute fever. A medical board formed on Thursday referred him to AIIMS.

Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and Health Minister Tapan Chakraborty called on the ailing minister in the hospital.

Attending doctors said that his condition was critical but he is responding to treatment.
