Tripura government raises DA for employees

December 25, 2013 12:45 am | Updated 12:45 am IST - AGARTALA:

The Left Front government in Tripura on Tuesday hiked Dearness Allowances (DA) for its employees and pensioners. Finance Minister Badal Choudhury announced the sop on the eve of Christmas and ahead of New Year festivals.

The Minister announced enhancement of 10 percent DA to State government employees and the pension holders. Earlier in the day, the Council of Ministers approved the decision to partially concede a long-standing demand of the employees.

The hike however is not on the lines of the central government perks, something employees’ organisations in Tripura have long been insisting. The new rate would be effective to all category employees, pensioners and family pensioners from January 1.
