Trinamool hits back at Modi

Trinamool Congress on Thursday slammed Narendra Modi for his attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, saying he was “advertising” himself as a PM candidate, but the people would not allow such a “nightmare”.

“Modi is advertising himself as PM candidate. It’s a wishful thinking. PM is decided by party with 273 MPs. Not by multi-million ads/superpaid news,” the Trinamool Congress MP and the party spokesman Derek O’ Brien told PTI.

“Modi has blood on his hands after riots where innocents were killed,” the TMC leader alleged.

“He can dream of becoming PM. India will not allow this nightmare,” Mr. O’ Brien said.

“India does not need to copy Modi’s Gujarat model. Other states have better models, including Bengal. Look at the facts not the hype,” he said.

Earlier during the day, Mr. Modi had told an election rally in Siliguri that Ms. Banerjee was playing votebank politics and that no real ‘parivartan’ (change) had taken place in the state during TMC rule.
