Train rams into jeep in UP, 13 killed

Thirteen people were on Friday killed and three others seriously injured when a train rammed into a jeep at an unmanned railway crossing in Kothipur area in Maharajganj.

The incident took place at 1 am when the victims were returning from a wedding.

The jeep carrying 16 people was hit by the train going to Narkatiyaganj from Gorakhpur at Beniawana unmanned crossing, police said.

While 13 people died on the spot, three others were rushed to a hospital where their condition was stated to be the serious.
