Thanks to speedy repairs, traffic has been partially restored near Kohima in Nagaland along National Highway 2, which was breached by an 80-metre-long landslip on July 13. Since Monday evening, over 300 empty trucks from Imphal have crossed the affected area for Assam for lifting various articles. Officials said loaded trucks would be able to ply normally within a week. On Tuesday morning, 101 trucks and tankers left Jiribam, entry point of National Highway 37 along the Assam border, for Imphal, carrying fuel under heavy armed escort.
