Top Maoist leader Ramkrishna alias RK, who had sustained bullet injuries is now under treatment in some secret place in Chitrakonda reservoir of Malkangiri district of Odisha or its adjoining region in Andhra Pradesh, claimed Malkangiri Superintendent of Police Mitrabhanu Mohapatra on Friday.

His claim was based on information provided by surrendered Maoist Rama Padiami (23) alias Rahul, who was carrying a reward of one lakh rupees on his head. Rama was active in the Chitrakonda reservoir area. Speaking to The Hindu , the SP said Rama was in touch with the naxalites who had escaped after the anti-Maoist operation in the area in October, in which 30 Maoists were killed.

The Odisha police called upon the injured RK to surrender and avail proper medical care. “As per our information, during the attack on the naxalite camp , RK had been seriously injured. Bullets had hit his legs. His injuries are grave and he is also aged. So, on humanitarian ground we are urging him to come out and get better medical help,” said the SP.
