With a detailed and elaborate plan in place, the Uttar Pradesh Government is taking no chances to ensure tight security for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Mathura on May 25. Mr. Modi will address a public meeting at Nagla Chandrabhan, the parental village of Bharatiya Janata Party ideologue, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, in Mathura district to mark the NDA Government’s one year in office.

According to the Prime Minister’s programme available with the State authorities, Mr. Modi will arrive in Nagla Chandrabhan, also known as Deen Dayal Dham, at 3-45 p.m. on May 25. “The Prime Minister is scheduled to return to Delhi at 6 p.m.,” the IG (Law and Order), A. Satish Ganesh said.

Eight companies of Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC), five companies of Rapid Action Force (RAF) would be deployed for the Prime Minister’s visit, in addition to seven SP rank officers, two additional SPs and 19 Deputy SPs. About 100 civil police constables, 35 traffic constables and 12 inspectors and sub-inspectors will be stationed in Mathura and Nagla Chandrabhan village. One PAC company for flood relief would be deployed for river patrolling along the Yamuna which flows through Mathura.

The IG ( Law and Order) told journalists that the Government Railway Police (GRP) has demanded one company of the PAC for maintaining vigil on the railway line. Considering that Mathura district was recently hit by strong winds and hailstorm, Mr. Satish Ganesh referred to the issue being raised by the DG ( Security ) in Thursday’s video conferencing to review the security arrangements. He said a contingency plan is being readied if there is inclement weather and the helicopter faces problem in the take off. Preparations have been made to take the Prime Minister to Delhi by road, the IG ( Law and Order) added.

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party has claimed that the Prime Minister’s “Jan Kalyan Sabha” (public welfare rally) in Nagla Chandrabhan would be historic. The spokesman of the State unit of the party, Chandra Mohan said finishing touches are being given at the rally site, adding, the UP BJP president, Laxmikant Bajpai was reviewing progress from Mathura.

Dr. Chandra Mohan said senior party leaders have been assigned the task of ensuring the presence of BJP workers from several districts, including Agra, Aligarh, Hathras, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etah, Bulandshahr and Gautam Buddha Nagar.
