Three suspected H1N1 patients die in Punjab

Three suspected swine flu patients, including two women, on Saturday died in Civil Hospital here, where they were admitted with flu-like symptoms.

The deceased were identified as Paramjit Singh, Paramjit Kaur and Vidya Devi - all from Punjab, Dr Roop Lal, District Health Officer (DHO) told PTI.

He said while two of the suspected patients were admitted late last night the third was in the isolation ward since Friday.

The swab samples of all of three patients were sent for test to PGI Chandigarh and reports were awaited, Dr. Lal said.

He said so far the death toll due to H1N1 in the district is 17, including the three deaths.
