The police have arrested three men believed to be carjackers and recovered 12 stolen two-wheelers and a SUV from them. The fourth member of the gang is absconding

Nitin, alias Shooter, was the leader of this gang. He worked with his accomplices Jeetendar Gupta, alias Jeetu, and Rahul Rai. Gagan, meanwhile, is yet to be arrested.

During interrogation, Nitin reportedly said that he and Gagan used stolen vehicles to carry out illegal activities in Delhi-NCR. He said that they would dispose of the stolen vehicles in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh.

Modus Operandi

“The gang mostly operated near the highway and the colonies nearby. Jeetu being a motor mechanic knew how to start a vehicle without keys,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Rishi Pal.

Mr. Pal added that the arrested trio were “hardcore criminals” involved in several cases of auto theft.

Rahul Rai, in fact, has previously been arrested for molesting a woman in Shakarpur.

The operation, which was carried out by a team from the Geeta Colony police station led by Inspector Pawan Kumar, was supervised by Assistant Commissioner of Police Ravikant Kumar.
