Three militants arrested in Manipur

Three militants have been arrested during frisking and searching of suspected areas in Imphal East and Chandel districts of Manipur by different security personnel, official sources said on Saturday.

A team of police commandos, attached to Imphal East district, searched Golapati Maning Leikai area near here yesterday during which two militants of United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) were arrested, sources said.

A revolver with four live rounds was seized from the possession of the two - Shongjakhup Haokip (19) and Letminthang Lhanghal (20).

In another incident, Assam Rifles personnel arrested a militant of Kangleipak Communist Party-Military Council (KCP-MC) Lamyanba Khuman faction, during frisking at security check post Khudengtabi area in Chandel district on Thursday.

The militant was identified as Kh Dharmendra Singh (35). Singh has been handed over to the police.
