The Dantewada district police in Chhattisgarh on Wednesday arrested three alleged Maoists from different places. “Sonai Yadav alias Gonde of Gayatpara village in Kuwankunda block, Mahesh Barese alias Marka of Chirmur village in Sukma district, and Lingaram Markami alias Sukhram of Chote Bedema village of Dantewada were arrested from three different locations based on intelligence inputs,” Dantewada district Superintendent of Police(SP) Narendra Khare told The Hindu .

According to the police, Sanai Yadav was a militia member and other two were “hardcore” Maoists.

“All three were involved in the attack on the police party near Shyamgiri two months ago in which five policemen including police inspector Vivek Shukla, were killed. They were also involved in an incident in Nakulnar market where a Constable Goutam Pande was killed and his weapon taken away and in the killing of the Sarpanch of Toyelanka village before elections,” the SP claimed.
