Three IPL bookies arrested

The Mumbai police on late Tuesday night arrested cricket bookies Ramesh Vyas, Pandurang Kadam and Ashok Vyas who were in contact with bookies from Pakistan during an IPL cricket match.

The police have seized 92 mobile phones, 18 SIM cards and Rs. 60,000 cash from the trio, who were caught while watching the cricket match.

“The initial probe has made it clear that 30 calls were made to Pakistan. Mr. Ramesh was working as the mediator between the bookies of Pakistan and India,” said spokesman, Mumbai Police, Satyanarayan Chaudhary.

The raid was conducted by the property cell of the Mumbai police at Lalvani Mansion in South Mumbai’s Kalbadevi area after the tip-off. The police are investigating the case further.
