The Indian Army on Thursday foiled an infiltration bid in Bandipora’s Gurez Sector, killing three militants.

Srinagar-based Army spokesman Colonel Rajesh Kalia said an infiltration bid was spotted on the LoC in Gurez. “Three terrorists were killed as the infiltration bid was eliminated in Gurez Sector,” said Colonel Kalia.

“The operation is in progress,” according to a statement.

Gurez, more than 200 km north of Srinagar, shares a long Line of Control (LoC) with Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK).
