Three get life term for rape of minor tribal girls

A fast track court on Wednesday convicted eight accused in the case of rape of minor tribal girls of a government residential school in Kanker district of Chhattisgarh and sentenced three of them, including a woman, to life imprisonment.

District and Sessions Judge Mahadev Katulkar found all the accused guilty under the IPC, Special Public Prosecutor T.C. Pandya said.

Prime accused Mannulal Gota, teacher; Dinanath Nagesh, hostel watchman; and Babita Marka, hostel superintendent, were sentenced to life imprisonment. Gota and Nagesh raped the girls on different occasions and Markam abetted them in the crime.
