Three CRPF men injured in IED blast in Sukma

Three Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were injured in an IED blast in restive Sukma district of south Chhattisgarh on Monday.

“A blast took place towards northwest side of Chintagufa village in Sukma where a CRPF camp is based. Three men of the CRPF’s 74th battalion suffered injuries in the explosion,” informed Mr.Dinesh Pratap Upadhyay, the Deputy Inspector General of the CRPF, Dantewada range.

According to some reports, Monday’s blast took place hardly 600 meters from the CRPF camp in Chinagufa village when the CRPF team was out to provide protection for a road construction work.

The injured CRPF men were identified as Inspector Ravi Singh, constable Yashbabu Pichaku, and constable Arjun Singh. They were airlifted to Raipur for treatment.

Yashbabu Piachaku has lost his right hand in the blast but he was said to be out of danger, Arjun Singh was reported critical.

Maoists torch vehicles

In two separate incidents, the Maoists set ablaze a truck in Dantewada district and some vehicles involved in road construction works in Sukma on Monday morning.

The ultras stopped a truck near Porokameli village on Dantewada-Jagdalpur road and set it on fire.

In Sukma, the ultras torched JSB vehicles involved in road construction work of Dharmapenta–Kishtaram road.

No one was injured in both the incidents, as the Maoists asked the people to get off the vehicles before setting it on fire.
