The Sahar police have booked the site engineer, an architect and a site supervisor for the Mumbai metro rail accident that killed one person and injured 16 on Tuesday. There was no official word from Mumbai Metro One Private Limited (MMOPL) or from Hindustan Construction Company (HCC), the company that was sub-contracted the construction of the patch of the airport station of the metro rail.
Police said they were in the process of recording the statements of the witnesses and the injured.
Meanwhile, one of the injured persons is still in a critical condition and may lose a limb, doctors said. “One person has suffered spinal injuries and there is a possibility of disability. Three persons are out of danger now. We have a total of seven patients at our hospital. Three might get discharged in a day or two, considering their minor injuries,” an official of Seven Hills Hospital said.
The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority on Wednesday reiterated that strict action would be taken against those responsible for the accident.
