The on-going Mumbai Film Festival brings together experienced and novice filmmakers under one roof
The on-going 15 Mumbai Film Festival offers a wide pallet for upcoming Indian film artists and enthusiasts. For the first time in India, the festival is holding the Mumbai Composers Lab, where six upcoming film music composers get a chance to interact with industry experts from UK and Indian music and film industry to give them a better understanding about what lies behind a successful movie score. The workshop is being held in the state-of-the-art Yash Raj Film Studios in their audio wing from October 21-23.
Screening over 200 films from 65 countries, master classes with international film prodigies, paying homage to the late Yash Raj Chopra, and conferring lifetime achievement awards to Indian artist Kamal Hassan and French filmmaker Costa Gravas, there something for everyone whether filmmakers or cinema enthusiasts, at the festival . The festival celebrates the emerging trends in cinema around the world. It features various sections like ‘World Cinema’ which honour outstanding films produced in the last calendar year, ‘India Gold 2013’ is a competition platform for Indian films produced in the last one year, and ‘The Real Reel’, a non-competitive platform for filmmakers to showcase their documentaries and feature films on socially relevant issues. The festival is on till October 24.
