Ten coaches of the Duronto Express derailed at the Salzora tunnel near Balli in south Goa on Sunday morning disrupting the traffic on the Konkan Railway route. No injuries were reported. Trains were diverted via Karwar and Londa.
The track would be cleared by evening, a spokesperson of Konkan Railway Corporation Limited told The Hindu on Sunday.
The Konkan Railway has made arrangements of breakfast, tea, coffee, lunch and drinking water for passengers of Train no. 12223 LTT-Ernakulam Duronto Express. Passengers were being shifted through unaffected coaches of the same train, through DMU, and buses have also been arranged to ferry the passengers.
The passengers of Duronto Express would be taken to their destinations by a special train. Full refund was being arranged for those passengers who do not want to continue their journey.
