Duronto Express derails in Goa

No injuries reported; trains diverted via Karwar and Londa

Ten coaches of the Duronto Express derailed at the Salzora tunnel near Balli in south Goa on Sunday morning disrupting the traffic on the Konkan Railway route. No injuries were reported. Trains were diverted via Karwar and Londa.

The track would be cleared by evening, a spokesperson of Konkan Railway Corporation Limited told The Hindu on Sunday.

The Konkan Railway has made arrangements of breakfast, tea, coffee, lunch and drinking water for passengers of Train no. 12223 LTT-Ernakulam Duronto Express. Passengers were being shifted through unaffected coaches of the same train, through DMU, and buses have also been arranged to ferry the passengers.

The passengers of Duronto Express would be taken to their destinations by a special train. Full refund was being arranged for those passengers who do not want to continue their journey.

Train No. 12224 Ernakulam Junction-LTT Express.

Partially cancelled trains

Train No. 56640 Mangaluru Central-Madgaon passenger is cancelled between Karwar and Madgaon and it would be terminated at Karwar;

12133 Mumbai CSTM-Mangaluru Junction Express that left Mumbai on Saturday is cancelled between Madgaon and Mangaluru Junction;

Train No. 12134 Mangaluru Junction-Mumbai CSTM Express leaving Mangaluru Junction on Sunday afternoon is cancelled between Mangaluru Junction and Madgaon.

Diversion

Train No. 16337 Okha-Ernakulam Junction biweekly Express of Saturday;

Train No. 02065 Mumbai CSTM-Ernakulam Junction Premium Special of Sunday;

Train No. 22634 Nizamuddin-Thiruvananthapuram Central Weekly Express of Friday;

Train No. 11097 Pune-Ernakulam Junction Poorna Express and;

Train No. 16312 Kochuveli-Bikaner Junction Express of Saturday are being diverted via Madgaon, Londa, Hubballi, Hassan and Mangaluru Junction.

Rescheduled

Train No. 12620 Mangaluru Central-Mumbai LTT Matsyagandha Express scheduled to leave Mangaluru at 2.35 pm on Sunday is rescheduled to leave at 4.35 pm on the same day.
