Close on the heels of reopening of a Shiva temple here, another place of worship closed in the early 90’s in the wake of militancy, was opened for public on Friday.

The doors of Puran Raj Bhairav temple at Sazgariora-Hawal in the old city area were thrown open and a puja was performed.

Sanjay Kumar Tickoo, President of Kashmiri Pandit Sangarash Samiti (KPSS), an organisation of non-migrant Pandits, said representatives of both communities (Pandits and Muslims) were present on the occasion.

“We request every one who are directly or indirectly associated with Kashmir should promote and propagate this attitude in true sense so that we as a Kashmiri society can isolate those bent upon destroying us on religious and political lines,” Mr. Tickoo said.

He said KPSS plans to reopen other temples also.
