The Goa police will produce Tarun Tejpal, accused in a sexual assault case, before the Judicial Magistrate First Class Court here on Wednesday as his extended police custody of four days ended on Tuesday.

The former editor-in-chief of Tehelka has been in police custody since his arrest by the Crime Branch on November 30 after his anticipatory bail application was dismissed by District and Sessions judge Anuja Prabhudesai that day.

He is facing charges of sexual assault on and rape of a junior colleague at the magazine’s ThinkFest event held in north Goa early last month.
