Stung by constant barbs from Opposition leaders that jungle raj prevailed in Bihar, Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Yadav on Monday hit back at them, while his father and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav dared the Opposition to impose President’s rule in Bihar.
“They talk a lot about the crime situation and return of jungle raj in Bihar, but why did they maintain silence when my brother-in-law was robbed at gun point at Gurgaon last Wednesday... Is it an example of mangal raj (ideal governance) in BJP-ruled Haryana?” asked Tejaswi Yadav.
He cited the figures released by the Union government to claim that Bihar was in the 22nd position in terms of crimes committed.
“A State in the 22nd position has jungle raj while the BJP-ruled Rajasthan, Haryana, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, figuring ahead of Bihar, have no jungle raj …how is it possible?” asked Mr.Yadav, who was present at the weekly janata durbar of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
“If criminal incidents are happening, criminals are being caught and punished too, but it has not been seen by the Opposition leaders,” he said.
Meanwhile, his father and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav dared the Opposition saying, “I challenge the BJP and Opposition parties to impose President’s Rule in Bihar... the people of Bihar will teach them a hard lesson”.
Earlier in the day, the Lok Janshakti Party chief Ram Vilas Paswan had slammed the State government, alleging that the situation in Bihar was worse than the jungle raj of 1990s.
