A teenaged boy was killed by a tigress in Katarniyaghat forest area, a senior forest officer said here today.

Budhha (14) was yesterday attacked by a tigress in Katarniyaghat Wildlife Sanctuary when he went there to collect wood with two others, Divisional Forest Officer R K Singh said.

“The tigress later ran into the jungle when people raised an alarm,” Mr. Singh added.

“This is the fifth incident of human death this year in a tiger or leopard attack, whereas over six persons have been injured in man-animal conflict,” the DFO said.
