Tapas remarks slip of the tongue: Pranab’s son Abhijit

July 04, 2014 02:27 am | Updated April 22, 2016 12:26 am IST - Kolkata:

President Pranab Mukherjee's son Abhijit Mukerjee, who had earlier courted controversy for making sexist remarks, said the issue involving remarks made by Trinamool Congress MP Tapas Pal should not be dragged further.

“Tapas has written an apology letter. I feel since he has apologised and his party has pardoned him, the debate should not be dragged any further,” Mr. Mukherjee told journalists at Suri in the Birbhum district.

Though the Congress MP from Jangipur in the West Bengal’s Murshidabad district said that Mr. Pal should not make such comments in future, he described it as a “slip of the tongue”.
