Tanwar: Will file defamation suit against CM, AAP

June 19, 2016 12:00 am | Updated October 18, 2016 02:44 pm IST - NEW DELHI:

A day after the Delhi Police gave him a clean chit, New Delhi Municipal Council vice-chairperson Karan Singh Tanwar said on Friday that he would file criminal defamation suits against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the AAP leaders who had accused him of being involved in the murder of an NDMC official.

An estate officer with the NDMC, M.M. Khan, was shot dead on May 16. He was expected to pass the final order on the lease of The Connnaught hotel in Lutyens’ Delhi. The police had arrested the owner of the hotel for allegedly planning the killing.

AAP’s Delhi convenor Dilip K. Pandey had pointed to Mr. Tanwar’s alleged involvement in the case, as he had written a letter to the L-G on May 6 apprising him of Mr. Khan’s “arbitrary and unjust” behaviour in the case.
