Swine flu toll rises to 150 in Gujarat

Swine flu claimed six more lives in Gujarat, taking the total number of deaths since January to 150, an official release said on Monday.

“The swine flu death toll has reached 150 in the State as six more persons succumbed to the H1N1 virus today,” it said.

Apart from these deaths, 107 new cases of swine flu were recorded across the state on Monday, taking the total number of cases to 1,781 till date.

The State Government also claimed that 692 patients have been cured till date.

As a precautionary measure, the government has initiated a state-wide door-to-door campaign.

According to the health department figures, four crore people across the State have been scanned by health workers so far and more than 4,000 persons with swine flu symptoms have been given necessary treatment.
