After pro-reservation Jat group All India Jat Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti (AIJASS) and the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) announced they would disrupt BJP president Amit Shah’s rally in Jind, the Swaraj India party on Sunday said it would also register a protest on the “disappointing” Union Budget, which has failed to address the farmers’ distress.

“The NDA government at the Centre clearly showed that they don’t care about the suffering of the farmers. Farmers’ real concerns have not been addressed in the Budget. Announcement of giving minimum support price of 50% more on the cost of production is nothing more than a “’jumla”. Hence, we have decided to protest against the anti-farmer policies of the BJP, when Mr. Shah comes to Jind,” said party’s senior Haryana leader Rajeev Godara.

“We will mobilise farmers under the banner of Jai Kisan Andolan and raise plight of farmers by staging a protest against the BJP,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which had condemned Prime Minister Narendra Modi for calling selling of “pakoda” an employment, will be presenting Mr. Shah with ‘pakodas’ at the rally venue.

“The BJP governments in Centre and Haryana have failed to deliver on all fronts, especially giving jobs to the unemployed. And then the Prime Minister makes such an insensitive statement regarding unemployment issue. We will expose the BJP’s true face before the public,” AAP’s Haryana convener Naveen Jaihind told The Hindu .

Nearly one lakh motorcycles are likely to participate in the February 15 rally.

The BJP, meanwhile, has said it was confident that the issues with Jats would be resolved and the proposed motorcycle rally would be a success. Haryana BJP chief Subhash Barala said the party is in talks with Jat leaders and is hoping that the rally would take place as planned. “Preparations for the rally are under way and we are confidant that the motorcycle rally would be held as per the plan,” said Mr. Barala.

Besides, the INLD has also announced to ‘welcome’ Mr. Amit Shah with black flags.
