Surrendered ULFA leader held

The police have arrested Sailen Dutta Konwar, a surrendered ULFA leader-turned managing director of Asomiya Khobor in connection with an incident of indiscriminate firing outside the residence of the owner of another Assamese daily, Niyomiya Barta , in the Hatigarh locality here on Tuesday. No one was hurt. Senior Superintendent of Police Dipak Choudhury told TheHindu that Mr. Dutta Konwar was arrested on “credible evidence” of his involvement in the firing. He said the police suspect that it could be the fallout of business rivalry.
