Even as suspected militants continue attacks on political workers and families of policemen in south Kashmir, Pulwama’s Tral observed a shutdown on Monday against an “Army raid on a Hizbul Mujahideen militant’s house and the thrashing of his family members”.
The family members of Hizb militant, Mushtaq Ahmed Chopan, alleged that his “aged father was beaten up along with scores of others in a raid.”
The National Conference (NC) appealed to the government to stop raiding the houses of militants. “It has created a fear psychosis among political leaders and workers,” said NC legislator Abdul Majid Larmi.
CPI(M) leader M.Y. Tarigami also expressed concern over the development.
