It takes hardly three hours to fly from Delhi to Imphal. However, it took 10 months for a Speed Post letter to reach here instead of the required 48 hours.
All Speed Post items are airlifted.
The letter in question was an urgent one sent by the Director (Northeast), Union Home Affairs Ministry, to the District Collector, Ukhrul, Manipur, on January 28 this year.
However, it was only on December 2 that the partly discoloured envelope was delivered to the Collector’s office in Ukhrul, a three hours’ drive from here.
