Top Samajwadi Party leaders will hold a brain-storming session here on Thursday to formulate its strategy for 2017 Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls and galvanise the party cadre.
The focus of the meet, the first of the ruling party’s newly constituted State executive, will be to associate youths with the party and hold training camps for them in which they would be told how to highlight achievements of the SP government, a senior party leader said on Wednesday.
“The first meeting of the executive will be held on Thursday and the main focus will be to devise ways to repeat its grand performance of 2012. Besides party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav, Ramgopal Yadav, State party chief Akhilesh Yadav and other senior leader will attend the meet,” SP general secretary Arvind Singh Gope said.
The State Government has done a lot of work in the past three years of Akhilesh Yadav regime and has implemented party’s manifesto besides launching welfare schemes like distribution of laptops, which no other State could even think of, he said.
“Now our focus will be on highlighting them and propagating good work done by us. We will discuss how to go about it,” Mr. Gope said. - PTI
