Six naxals arrested in Chhattisgarh

Six Naxals were arrested in Kanker district of Chhattisgarh by a joint team of Border Security Force (BSF) and district police, a senior police officer said here on Saturday.

The team was patrolling yesterday when it got a tip off that some Naxals were planning to carry out a major attack in Masoor Pipli village of the district, following which they reached the village and arrested six Naxals, Police Superintendent of Kanker, Ajay Yadav told PTI.

The arrested were identified as Mohan Lal (20), Ram Prasad (20), Santosh Dohri (19), Bahadur Kavachi (20), Jageshwar Komre (19) and Maniram Mandavi (19), he said.

The arrested Naxals are accused in cases of murder and attempt to murder, Ajay Yadav said, adding that they were being interrogated.
