Six farmers commit suicide in Vidarbha

Six farmers have committed suicide during the last two days in various parts of Vidarbha region in Maharashtra, an NGO said on Thursday.

The deceased farmers were identified as Ashok Tingle, Wanha (Amravati), Rooprao Ramkrishna, Lakhad (Amravati), Shriram Waghade, Dabhdi (Yavatmal), Shyamrao Rathod, Pimpalgaon (Yavatmal), Kisan Jamkar, Koldara (Washim and Sunil Chavan, Palodi (Washim), the NGO, Vidarbha Janandolan Samiti president Kishore Tiwari said in a release on Thursday.

As many as 48 farmers have ended their lives this month, Tiwari claimed adding the farmer suicide trend was again picking up in Vidabrha region.
