Sikkim Minister's vehicle attacked

A vehicle of Sikkim Minister for Road and Bridges Ran Bahadur Subba was attacked by some persons at Singling in West Sikkim district, police sources said.

The driver lodged an FIR with the Soreng police station, saying the vehicle was attacked by some persons on Friday last.

On the basis of the FIR, eight persons were arrested.

Meanwhile, Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) youth convenor of the area, who is alleged to have attacked the youth who attacked the vehicle, has been taken into police custody and taken to the Soreng police station on police remand, the DIG (Range) N. Sridhar Rao said.
