Indian army soldiers take positions near the LoC in Rajouri.

One soldier was killed and five others were injured when militants opened fire on an Army convoy on the Srinagar-Jammu highway on Saturday morning.

Preliminary reports suggest that the attack place at Hillar, Qazigund, in South Kashmir. The area is over 70 km south of Srinagar.

A police official said a search operation was launched in the area to nab the attackers.

Reinforcements have been rushed to the spot.
